| | You are your most important asset. Take care of yourself... |
| I have two goodies for you today and a share. Hope you're all well and staying safe and finding time for your creativity.
I'm slowly getting back into the habit of short creativity check ins for you and have posted two recently on YouTube:- one video on revising your novel. How do you get started? I also share my article on a technique that really helped me in my final revisions, "Talk to Your Book, An Intuitive Approach."
- and another video on taking a break. Something I needed to do after I turned in my novel. Do you need a break, for a rest or relaxation or inspiration? What excites you? Where is your energy today?

Sharing
Here's my share. I am freaking out!
I have worked my patootie off to get this ready, and in fact uploaded to Smashwords and Draft2Digital on Sunday and Monday, so that they could get it out to all the vendors.
And I've already uploaded the book to Kindle early Kobo, Nook, and Apple all have my book.
I am excited and a bit fuzzy headed, blurry eyed, in a daze.
So now I get to reorient myself towards marketing.
I know what I want to do but I just haven't set things in motion. I want to do a blog tour!
I know all about how to do blog tours as I have been doing them and teaching how to do them for almost a decade, but now people are calling them virtual book tours, but it's the same thing.
What I didn't share there was my GMC (Goal, Motivation, Conflict) around this project. Here it is. Goal (Inner and Outer): Get the word out in fun sustainable ways so that I get get my book in the hands of readers; feel good that I'm taking action; (actions like: leveraging my network through newsletter swaps and guest posts)
Motivation: I need to let this book have an impact and to do that I need to market it.
Conflicts/Challenges: busy brain, ungrounded, self-doubt; too-busy feeling; what if no one likes the book? declaring/blocking off time to do the work of marketing.
Strengths: I do believe in this book and series; I have experience marketing my fiction; there are readers out there for this book and series. "I can do this!" and I can ask for help! I can think outside the box and take risks.
Next Steps
Now my next step is to put some dates and action around the plan. I'll check in with you next week on how that's going.
In all honesty my brain is already full with Book 2 as that book is already on pre-order.
I need to get the edits done by Aug 1. I can do it!
If I spend 40 hours a month: May, June, and July. Progress is very slow. I edit on average two to three pages per hour because I'm making final decisions around everything.
Sometimes I have to stop for research, which is fun :) It can feel really nerve wracking how slow the progress is but I've made my peace with it, and I'm really happy with the results.
Sneak peek into some projects I'm working on:
- I'm serious about launching a podcast by the end of the year. My tentative title is "Kick-ass Heroines and Women Warriors with Beth Barany." What do you think?
- I’m in the middle of reorganizing my content calendar for the rest of the year and re-jiggering my offers. More on that later, once I've made my decisions.
