Hi Friend,

Recently I got to see the Lincoln Memorial with my own eyes and was moved. So grand. Literally larger than life. Because it was 100 degrees Fahrenheit in DC, we went at night when it was only 85 degrees.

Hope you're well and holding up against the summer heat. (Or winter cold.)

On to some observations I've made about creativity and writing...

-- Write stories that you want to read.

-- There's power like none other in finishing a first draft. But do it in a way that's truly a supportive choice.

-- "How can I do this?" is a powerful key to unlock solutions you may not have thought of yet. Use this question for writing your book and also for marketing it.

-- Choose telling details -- the ones that are vivid, sensory, and highly specific.

-- Voice comes from truth, your truth, your character's truth. And it's not always pretty but it can be touching.

What are some observations you've made about creativity and writing your stories?
