| | Giving Back: Help Build a Solar-Powered Well
One of my biggest concerns about the world is that not everyone has running water. So this holiday season, I donated to HydrateLife, so that a village in Nicaragua can build a solar-powered well and insure that over one hundred households have running water.
When girls and women don't have to spend their day hauling water, then they can get an education (for the girls) and actively contribute to the family (for the women.)
Here's a bit about their story:
Imagine that every day since you've been strong enough to carry it, you've had to spend hours walking to collect water.
For girls like those in the picture above, this may have only been a couple of years so far, but for many, it has been decades.
This leads to the girls missing school, and as they get older, it keeps women locked in their traditional responsibilities, unable to work and pursue their dreams.
This project will put an end to this by bringing clean water directly to every home in Motuse, freeing up this time, getting the girls back in school, and giving the women opportunities they have never had before.
By supporting this project you can have a direct impact on their lives, and the lives of everyone in Motuse.
Every donation we receive for the rest of the year will go towards this solar powered community based water project.
