I know it's only the beginning of May, but I'm already thinking of summer and making writing plans. How about you?
Here's some resources to get you day-dreaming, planning, and jumping into more writing!
Daydream about doing a writer's residency?
Six winning applicants will spend July 10 – August 7th in New Orleans focusing on their writing in an historic shotgun just outside the French Quarter.
The retreat will cover airfare up to $500, and include a stipend of $200 per week to cover food and entertainment.
During these four weeks, writers will build lifelong connections with other writers, and will have the opportunity to receive in-depth personal mentoring in everything from writing routines to the details of your craft.
The deadline for applications is June 1, 2017.
Productivity Tips on Little to No Budget
As warmer weather kicks in here in the Northern Hemisphere (we're having a hot spell here in Oakland!), it's a great time to revisit your productivity tools. I love being efficient with where I put my focus, so I can get more writing done.
I know I shared this once before, but these tips bear repeating. Check out these low-cost and no-cost tips by guest columnist, Chloe Adler.
Story Structure Course, Because It's Useful (And Awesome)
This is an-email only course, where I post lessons twice weekly, with lots of opportunities for interaction and feedback. I've only posted the Introduction and Welcome, so you're not behind at all.
If you're confused about story structure and want to write stronger stories, then this course may be for you.
Got here for more information on the course and how to register:
Have a great rest of your week!
All my best, Beth
