Publishing News, Writing Tools for Inspiration, & Cool Kickstarters

February 11, 2022
Oakland, CA

Hi Friend,
Welcome new subscribers from Traci Skuce's writing summit!
I'm here to support you with your fiction writing and author career through these weekly newsletters, my self-paced courses, books, and live events.

I'm planning to share with you soon a key tool I use to create successful books and market them. But not this week, as I'm deep in final edits for my novel. And I need more time to make this next article sparkle.

I also need more time to process internally my next phase: publishing the fourth book in my science fiction mystery. So this week, instead, I wish to offer you this advice:

You know when you accomplish something, or are about to accomplish something, that is a BIG deal, that you thought you'd never be able to do?

Like finish a novel. (Yes, this is my 16th novel but every time feels as awesome as the first time!)

Like write science fiction!

And mysteries!

I'm currently doing both and planning to write more in this award-winning series that readers tell me they want more of -- now.

That's where I'm at. And it's a wonderful and scary feeling.

So I'm taking the time to get used to this new and wonderful and deeply desired place.

When I find all my words, I will share with you my visioning tool.

I'll also share more with you about my Kickstarter for launching this book.

NEWS!

By now you may have heard of the DRAFT2DIGITAL + SMASHWORDS MERGER -- two powerhouses in the independent author world, both doing e-book distribution now will become one company.

My take -- it's a good thing, great even. I'm excited!

The Keys to Lasting Change

I recommend this unique conversation series about transformation hosted by the Master Trainers of NLP Marin, with the topic of "The Keys to Lasting Change."

I trained at NLP Marin and am a Master Practitioner in Transformational NLP.

This work helped me go from skittish about marketing my fiction to being comfortable in my skin. This training also helped me understand how to create the change I'd like to create on an ongoing basis as I constantly evolve.

Highly recommended.

Take what's useful and leave the rest.

A no-cost series, available now: (even though the dates on the page say January)

Some Kickstarters I'm super excited about

The reason I'm sharing about these Kickstarters is that it's quite fascinating to see how other story and story-related creators are building excitement about their products.

It's quite a fascinating way to market and sell.

Follow your curiosity and notice what you like about this crowdfunding practice of gathering an audience of super fans.

Have a happy and creative week! Happy Writing!

All my best,

Beth
