I'm fascinated by the stars. When I feel alone, I look up at the night sky, and then I feel like I belong to this universe. I am comforted.
It's been a challenging time adjusting to not being at home while clean up and repairs continue at our apartment.
I want to be working on my books -- and have done some good work -- but feel the frustration of not making more progress. I have deadlines to meet. Deadlines I created, so of course I can change them.
But life happens. I bow to the vastness of the all that I can't control. But hold fast to my commitment to my work. When I can show up to it, I do -- wholeheartedly. When I'm unable to show up because of unexpected and necessary other commitments, I do my best to show up for those things fully.
Life is now -- whatever is in front of me and whatever I'm feeling. Maybe a heaviness, a sadness at the upheaval in my life and the fact that I can't go home for a few more weeks.
It's not about being special or put upon or the victim of what happened to our apartment -- no one caused the water damage. It's just about feeling, experiencing, noticing, and making space for all of it.
I often talk to myself like I'm a little one. I say, "It's okay. It'll be okay. You're doing good. One foot in front of the other. Yes, that's it."
What is your self-talk? Does it support you when times are tough? Maybe you have some other ways to soothe and comfort yourself. I'd love to hear yours.
I need to reclaim my daily life, my work. Helping writers gives me focus and purpose and is a joy.
I love helping other writers find their strengths, gain awareness about their challenges, and step into living the life of an author that they want. And I love doing that in an intimate group of supportive writers, all aiming in the same direction: to publish and share their stories with the world.
We do this with by offering lots of resources, hands-on guidance, and access to experienced and bestselling novelists who are also professional teachers, coaches, and mentors -- myself and Ezra, my husband.
You can join the group anytime, but I offer special enrollment bonuses this time of year to coincide with a Feb. 1st start date of our new cycle of offerings.
Because of all that's been going on with our house upheaval, I haven't been able to market the group's Early Enrollment Bonuses as much as I'd like.
So I'm extending them to Friday, Dec. 21st, 9pm PT.
One of the bonuses is "Your Writer's Adventure Guide" webinar.
This special live training class will help you focus on your writer's goal, your motivation for writing, your challenges, and your strengths.
DATE: Tuesday, Jan. 22nd, 2019, 5:30pm PT/8:30pm ET.
Via Zoom. Comes with handouts and replay recording.
This special webinar will be for all new members who register early and all current members.
Other bonuses include: - A copy of our newest book, Plan Your Novel Like A Pro, and
- A critique of your 1st 10 manuscript pages by me and
- 1-hour coaching/consulting session with me via phone or Zoom. We can do a deep dive into any aspect of your book or into your writer's motivation, life, or inspiration.
