I read a statistic recently that said CEOs spend about 5 hours a week on learning new things.
That made me smile. I'm in good company. You may be too!
I'm a CEO of my writing career (and run my own business teaching writers), and I'm learning new things all the time.
I can't seem to stop.
Every day I read a few articles about marketing, or writing, or new technology. And I'm always looking up words I don't understand.
I study material I bought from home study classes and go to live trainings and conferences all year round.
I think our brains are in love with learning because learning is sexy.
I don't know the science behind it, but I know it feels good to learn.
I've especially noticed that writers are lifelong learners.
What are you learning these days? What are you curious about that you'd like to know more about?
Hit reply and share with me. I'd love to know.
Her smarts and edits have helped me so much over the years. I credit her (and our other critique partner!) with shaping the novelist I am today.
So I'm proud to announce her first course for writers: "Start a Book in 5 Easy Steps."
In this interactive writing course, you'll... -- discover essential elements for the type of book you're writing. -- explore basic plots and reader expectations. -- see how theme, premise and characters can become your secret weapons. -- be able to test-drive your current idea with PlotSpinner.
If you follow the 5 Easy Steps, you'll get a birds-eye view of your book, you'll be able to harness the story idea swirling around in your head, and you'll learn how to develop characters with natural conflict and issues.
I have to say I've taken Patricia's course and really enjoyed it; it helped me understand my story better, which helps me edit my WIP better. My current project!
I hope it will help you write or edit your book!

Happy Writing! And have a great week!
