| | People write for all kinds of reasons -- for the satisfaction, for creative expression, to have an audience, for mental wellness -- and other reasons I didn't name. I'm sure you have your own.
But when it comes time to edit and ready our books for the marketplace, we are doing that for our readers.
Imagine your reader discovering your book, bringing it into their home, reading it deep into the night, never wanting the story to end. Then returning to world renewed, thinking about your characters, telling their friends about them, wanting to read everything you've written...
Picture your super fan devouring every story you write, telling you how much you impacted their life, sharing with others about your work...
Our stories matter. We do impact the hearts and minds of others with our words carefully crafted that well from our subconscious.
We also have the honor and privilege to craft stories, to shape culture, to impact others. Let's appreciate that and safeguard our health and energy so we can bring light into the world with our work. |
| | Have a happy and creative week! Happy writing!
Best, Beth

"I started reading it, and immediately stopped and started applying their steps to a novel I was prepared to throw away because I'd been unable to think of a way to revise it and make it meaningful. I'm now about 30K into the rewrite of that novel! As an added bonus, there is a workbook you can use alongside the book to make the process even easier!" -- Ann Shannon
