I'm lucky that I was born into a family that loves the arts, telling stories, music, arts & crafts, cooking, dancing, being silly, playing games, reading aloud, and more appreciation of the artsy things.
Such a rich childhood to draw from.
But all that didn't teach me how to be a novelist.
For that, I had to write, get feedback in a supportive community, write some more, get more feedback, and improve, and study, and learn, and write more and get more feedback.
I think you see where this is going. It's a process, a long process.
Where are you in the process?
Here's my take:
We write for ourselves but we edit for our readers.
So, who are you writing for?
Who are your readers? Or who would you like your readers to be?
Hit reply and let me know!
And check out the latest podcast episode where I do an edit about backstory and helping make more clear the opening of a YA paranormal fantasy story.
