Vibrant, Not Knowing + Acting Anyway
May 21, 2015

Hi Friend,

I hope you've been having a creative week.

I've been going through a lot of behind-the-scenes changes.

Monday I was grouchy. I couldn't really put my finger on why.

I almost blew off weekly Monday night's class, Chris Zydel's Painting from the Wild Heart.

I'm so glad I went. While painting (and finishing the piece shown here), I realized a few things:
  • I really want to spend even more time writing and promoting my fiction. (I've started a new romance novella.)
  • I was angry at my business for not supporting me the way I wanted it to.
  • I was too scattered in my business efforts.
  • I needed to say No to some things in my business.
Passion. Anger. Sadness. And then Chris asks me, as she always does, "What is your point of great aliveness?" (She asks all of us this.)

I could feel all these emotions swirling in me.

I could also feel my center.

My last few paintings have all had swirls and strong centers.

My still center.

Vibrant. Non verbal.

A gut feeling.

There's no mental certainty from this place.

But from here I can still act.

I knew what to do.

So, I'm stopping the Author Entrepreneurship Magazine by the end of June. The site will remain accessible as a service to us all.

I'm moving all my blogging tips in support of writing, marketing, and publishing for novelists to Writer's Fun Zone, where we already have tons of resources -- eight years of posts (wow!).

Also, I'm stepping out of one creative entrepreneur community and spending way less time on Facebook and Twitter.

These decisions aren't coming from my thinking mind, but from my gut -- my gut check, feeling center, rooted in my body.

It's been a long road to trust my inner knowing in this way.

Lots of baby steps.

What baby steps can you take to trust your center, the part of you that knows what you really want?

Hit "reply" and let me know. I'm curious!

And, if you're looking for more support, check out our offerings below.
