What do you need help with?
On the flip side, you might not be excited.
You might be bummed or frustrated or angry or stuck about your book.
As a creativity coach for writers, I know what it’s like to be bummed, frustrated, angry, and stuck.
In fact, I've been stuck for the last 2 days on the edits of my novel.
And... I have been here many times before.
It’s like you’re in a big dark hole and can’t find your way out.
It is so frustrating. I hate it.
And yet, when I complain to my writers friends about where I’m at, they remind me that I arrive in this dark place with every book.
And so do they. Every time.
It’s part of the process, they remind me.
And you’ve gotten yourself out of the dark hole every time, they remind me.
And it’s true. I do.
I have lots of tools for that.
One of the tools I have is: permission to be grumpy and the compassion and space for it. I hold space for myself to be grumpy…
It’s okay. I tell myself. It’s going to be okay.
And I speak to you from the other side of the black hole where I see the light, but I’m also still in the darkness. For this book is far from being in good shape.
You see, I understand that there is the murky muddy period where the book is no longer a first draft but not yet a polished book ready for the readers either.
It’s awkward, uncomfortable.
Come to think of it, my book is a lot like being a gangly teenager.
At least I felt awkward and uncomfortable as a teenager.
All this to say, if you find yourself in that muddy middle of your editing process and you don’t know what to do and you’d like some compassionate help to find the light and get back to your edits of your current science fiction or fantasy novel, then I invite you to a coaching session with me.
I do one-off sessions that you can sign up for here.
I also do tailored programs, made just for you. (Let me know.)
And, I also have a 12-month program too. Details here.
