The webinar will be recorded, if you can't make it live. Hope to see you there!
Long version:
Not everyone approaches writing their novels the same way. Their problems are each different, so their solutions need to be too.
In my work with lots of different kinds of writers as a writing teacher and coach to novelists, I've noticed all (okay, most) writers desire to wow and delight their readers, while providing a welcome escape from their daily lives.
But when you're not writing, and want to be, it can be painful. Like a dull toothache. Or worse.
I know... I've been there, lots. My personal stopping blocks are confusion and overwhelm and also the fear of going crazy. Yikes.
In all my work with writers, and also all my work writing my own novels (16 so far), I've learned that I am not alone in these fears and blocks.
Most of us writers experience the pain of trying to write something and it not coming out at all like we’d hoped.
Many of us feel the crippling pain that freezes us from even putting down one word for fear it won’t be right or perfect or as good as the writers we admire.
What do we do?
First, breathe, and know what you're going through is not unusual and actually is a part of the creative process. Something all (okay most) writers experience.
Next, know that creating is a messy process and we are all human and perfectly imperfect.
There's more I could say and will...in the webinar tonight.
We'll go more in depth with these inner life things that stall us out from writing and how to sort them out, so we can get back to writing.
Please join us for this free community webinar tonight, Tuesday, Feb. 27, 6pm PT/9pm ET. I'm offering this for free for a few reasons...
One, I want to give back to my writing community.
Two, I haven't done a community-wide event since before my father was quite sick (and then passed away in January) and I need and want to deliver a low-risk event to get back in the game of teaching live.
Three, I'm writing a book on the spiritual life of a fiction writer and this material is part of that. So I' testing it out. :)
We'll also chat about writing and answer any questions you have.
|
| Here's to your creativity! Happy writing!
♥
Best,
PS. Even if you can't attend live, sign up for this webinar and we'll send you the replay. Sign up here: http://www.writersfunzone.com/blog/webinar-6-types-writer-pain-resolve/
