Hello Friend,
The following note is being sent to all my clients, some of which do not host a website with me. If you do not have a website that is hosted with me, you can disregard this message; however, I'd still recommend you read through the information in case you do have a website that is being hosted somewhere else.
I have recently been made aware of some changes Google is making with regard to non-secure (http) websites. I wanted to share the information with you and let you know what my recommendation would be.
What is this change? Google is always working to come up with every possible way to make us feel secure on the internet. Therefore, as of July 2018, Google has started to mark (or flag) websites that do not contain an SSL (https), as a non-secure or unsafe website.
*For details on what an SSL is and why it's important, please see additional notes below in the gray section.
What is the cost of an SSL Certificate? The cost for an SSL Certificate is $99.95 per year, per website.
So what do we do now? It is my opinion and recommendation that we get your website(s) set up with an SSL Certificate. If this is something you would like to proceed with, please respond to this email and let me know. Once I hear from you, I will submit an invoice for $99.95 plus a one-time fee of $35 for me to set this up. Once payment has been made, I will go ahead and make this change. |
