Subject: What would you do if today was a gift, Friend?

I almost never send emails on weekends, Friend. But today is my birthday and I have an important message for you (don't worry, it's actually NOT about my birthday).

Pre-cancer me didn’t love birthdays. They were a reminder that I looked and felt older. I was one year closer to THE END.

But post-cancer me sees birthdays as a reminder of the gift of another year to:

  • Watch my boys play baseball.

  • Learn from my clients.

  • Joke with my (sarcastic as can be) husband.

  • Make an impact through my work.

Humans have a strange relationship with time. We focus on its limitations. Because we have a limited amount of time here on earth.

But it’s also a gift.

And when you perceive it as a gift, you're more likely to cherish it.

Which means...

  1. Prioritizing the things you want to be doing.

  2. Letting go of the things you don't want to be doing (without guilt or apology).

  3. Being more present.

  4. Having more fun.

Today I ask you to think of your time as a gift. Something to be cherished.

And then ask yourself... How do you choose to cherish your time today?

XO,

Heather
