Every high achiever I’ve ever known has wanted to consistently move up the proverbial career ladder.
For lawyers in private practice, that usually looks something like: Getting promoted to partnership. Building your own book of business. Being promoted to equity partner. Becoming a practice manager and/or firm leader.
But... How do you know if you’re on track? And is there something that can guarantee (or as close to guarantee) you are on track?
As a mid-level associate, I asked those questions for how to ensure I was on partner track.
Want to know what they told me?
Act like you belong.
You probably won't be surprised to hear that I didn't find this helpful (even though it's pretty common advice).
Which is why wanted to address this topic in today’s Life & Law Podcast.
If you’re wanting to get on partnership track and/or promoted to partnership within the next few years, today’s episode was made for you.
Listen here, Friend.
XO, Heather
P.S. Not in private practice or an attorney? Today’s episode will still be helpful (so be sure to listen here). |
