What one word would you use to describe the past year, Friend? Some of the most common words I've heard are: - Scary.
- Isolating.
- Exhausting.
- Overwhelming.
- Surreal.
I find it interesting how such a global experience can lead to such variations. But look deeper and perhaps they're not so varied after all because there's one common underlying theme. . .
Uncertainty.
The problem is that uncertainty feels disruptive, and exposes just how vulnerable you really are.
And it triggers your negatively-biased brain (that's hard-wired this way as a protective mechanism against danger) to take over.
If you're not properly equipped to counteract your brain's pre-wired 'protective mechanisms', then you'll likely end up in a spiral of worry, anxiety and fear.
All because a simple truth has been exposed: that life was always uncertain to begin with.
This is something I learned how to deal with back in 2012. When I was diagnosed with an aggressive breast cancer.
- Accepting uncertainty as a given.
- How to lead during uncertain times (with calm self-confidence).
- The #1 thing you need to let go of if you want to feel more in control.
You'll even learn how to create a bit of certainty amidst all the disruption.
