Subject: Rethinking how you perceive time


It won't always be so busy.

I'll have more time next month to work out.

One day I'll be able to take a vacation without working most of it.

I hear this (a lot!) from new clients. Notice the fallacy? 

There's an assumption that - one day - things will get better. On their own.

Why is that a fallacy?

Because people (colleagues, friends and even family members) will take advantage of everything you're willing to give them.

That's human nature.

[Most people don't even realize that they're taking advantage. They just enjoy that you're willing to give so much.]

What that means is that it's up to you to NOT get overextended, Friend. And you do that by:
  • Enforcing boundaries.
  • Prioritizing self-care.
  • Aligning around your values + priorities.
No one else can do that for you. No one else will do that for you.

One of the reasons I think we do this is because of how we view time... As finite. It's limited.

And so we cram our calendars full - often with things that aren't all that important.

If you’re constantly overextended and over-stressed, know that it need not be this way.

It's time to rethink how you perceive (and hence choose to spend your) time. Because your life IS time (and vice versa).
