I grew up a choir geek who dreamed of becoming a singing sensation.
But after realizing I was a good (not great) opera singer that couldn't compete with Top 40 voices, I gave up on that dream and went to law school instead. And I pretty much stopped singing, other than when at Church.
But that all changed the day my son Zachary belly-laughed so hard that I thought he'd never stop while watching the main characters of a quirky kids show (called The Upside Down Show) get stuck in the Opera Room.
When in the Opera Room everything you say comes out in song (opera-style, of course).
From that day forward, I'd visit the Opera Room whenever the moment called for a quick pick-me-up.
Unfortunately, my oldest son is now a teenager (and what was once hilarious is now embarrassing). I haven't visited the Opera Room in some time.
Until a few days ago when everyone in my house felt frustrated and disheartened by all that's going on. Out came smiles and laughter (even from my teenager).
Your Success Strategy Be sure to create your own opera room, Friend.
I don't mean this literally (you don't have to break out in operatic song).
Be silly. Do something that makes you and your family happy (regularly). Create some happiness for goodness sake!
Part of living is finding ways to enjoy life no matter what. And just because times are difficult doesn't mean that you can't be silly and have fun.
Weekly Mindset Sessions
Having trouble letting go of the stress, anxiety and worry (and can't find ways to be happy and have fun)?
Join me for my weekly Master Your Mindset Training Sessions. We meet every Wednesday morning at 8:30 AM CST through the end of this month (and it's not too late to join us). This week I'm covering how to use self-talk to change how and what you think (hint: it's NOT about thinking positively - that doesn't work).
