A newsletter reader recently asked me an interesting question…
Is it feasible to become a lawyer later in life?
My reaction was to bristle a bit (okay, maybe a lot). Because this question is infused with the assumption that - at some point - it’s too late.
Hogwash!
It’s never too late to decide you want to go to law school, change career paths or make a big career pivot.
I’ll go even further by saying it’s never too late to make any big change to your life so long as you make the choice fully.
What do I mean? Know why you want the change. Think through all your options. Make a choice based on your desires and options.
And then be good with whatever that choice is (and go all-in on pursuing it).
Please note that it’s fine to later decide you want to make another change (or not go further after some point). That doesn’t make the original choice wrong.
It just means you’ve learned something about yourself and have decided (based on your experiences and growth) to move forward in a different direction.
Life is more interesting when you see it for what it is: a chance to explore and grow.
Treat it accordingly, Friend.
And if you have been thinking about making a big change (to your career or in your life), be sure to listen to today’s podcast about how to support yourself through the change.
Because just because it’s never too late doesn’t mean it will be easy (or that everyone will agree with or even support you).
