Subject: How to not have regrets

I was so stunned that I audibly gasped. Okay, so let me back up a moment...

I was having lunch with a dear friend & mentor several years after he retired, and it was time to tell him that I was leaving law to start a new business.

Heart racing, I nervously rushed through my (overly prepared) explanation thinking he wouldn't understand.

But when I was done, he said. . . "I wish I'd had someone like you to talk to 20 years ago. I spent the last 15 years of my career resenting my own clients."

Say what? This man was the epitome of success:
  • Big book of business.
  • Made lots of money.
  • Respected by everyone.
  • Part of management.
He was the one you were supposed to emulate!

That's when I realized that we were talking about the same thing: changing priorities.

The difference was that he had allowed his fears around failure and what others might think to stop him from doing anything about it (something I was determined NOT to let happen).

Why tell you this?

Your priorities will change over the course of your life, Friend. I don't want you to end up bitter or resentful (like my mentor).

Find out what to do when your priorities change so that you can move forward with confidence in the latest Life & Law Podcast.

You only get one life. Make sure to live yours to its fullest.

P.S. When I had cancer, I learned that the biggest regrets in life relate to not having had the courage to go after what you want. Today's episode is that important (listen here).

P.P.S. Ready to confidently realign both career + life around what’s most important to you (and let go of all of the rest)? Here's how I can help.
