Subject: How to achieve your goals, Part 1 [hint: don't do this]

NOTE: Although I truly love having you, I only want to send you emails if you're enjoying them and they're helping you.

I seriously hope you stick around ;-), but if you no longer want to receive emails from me, you can unsubscribe by tapping Unsubscribe at the bottom of this email.

Now, on to the good stuff...

Have you started setting your 2020 goals yet?  I've already started coaching several of my clients around theirs.

Before you get too far into your 2020 goal-setting process, I have a question Friend. . .

Are you using a strategy that sets you up for success or failure?

In my experience, many people don't put enough thought into how they set goals (which makes goal achievement harder and can lead to unhappy results).

A couple of years ago I wrote about 5 common goal-setting mistakes that make goal-achievement difficult (sometimes impossible).

After working with numerous clients around goal-setting and achievement, I've since expanded that list and have updated (really, re-written) my original article.  I've even given it a fancy new name!

Before you go any further with your 2020 goal-setting, go read about the Goal-Setting Mistakes to Avoid to Start Reaching Goals that Matter.

In this article, you'll learn:
  • Why reaching your goals is dependent on your goal-setting strategies, and
  • 10 (yes, ten!) common goal-setting mistakes that make it difficult to achieve your goals (and what to do about each).
Once you're done reading the article, be sure to download your free Successful Goal-Setting Worksheet (download it directly here).  This worksheet will help you NOT to make these common mistakes.

And then hit reply and tell me the #1 mistake you've been making.

I'll go first: I used to set goals based on what other people thought about me, wanted for me, and did themselves.  Back then, goal-achievement was a struggle!

This is Part 1 of a two-part goal-setting series.  I'll send you Part 2 next week  (which covers 3 keys to setting goals that are meaningful and more fun to achieve).
