Subject: Good or bad, Friend? It's your choice.

Can you believe that we're close to the END of November already?  Here in the United States, we're about to celebrate Thanksgiving.

Before you know it, Christmas (and then New Year's Eve) will be upon us too.

If you're like most people, the magic you once felt around the holidays as a kid has disappeared and been replaced with. . .

Rushing around, feeling overwhelmed by all that needs to get done.  And becoming completely disconnected from WHAT (and WHY) you're supposed to be celebrating in the first place.

But this year will be different because. . . 2020.

Depending on how you choose to view things, that might be a good thing.  Or it could be bad.

I'm noticing a lot of people have already put up their Christmas trees and outdoor lights (which feels a bit early to me).  I'm sure it's an attempt to bring a bit of holiday cheer into a year that's been filled with disruption and uncertainty.

I worry that this could backfire on those who are relying on their Christmas decorations to do the work they need to do within their mind.

Putting the tree up early might make you feel hopeful for a couple of days, but it's not changing what's going on in the world.  Nor is it changing that this year's holidays will look different.

But here's the thing: change isn't always a bad thing. Even when it's due to a global pandemic.

I've noticed a lot of GOOD that's come from this year.  Within my clients, my relationships and my business.

Here are a few examples:
  • I've recently taken on 3 new clients who knew that they needed to change their lives but did nothing for YEARS. . . Until the pandemic showed them that change is inevitable (so why not take control and create the change THEY want in their lives?).
  • Due to the financial impact of the pandemic, we cancelled a ride service that took our kids from school to their after-school activities (which I took over).  Although this further limited my availability for clients, I've loved the extra bonding time with my boys (and I've decided not to rehire the service even though my business is once again growing).
With change brings new opportunity.  2020 is no exception.

So. . . what opportunities have come your way this year?  It's up to you to find them, Friend.

XO,

Heather
