Motivated.
Gung-ho.
Ready to get started.
But then life happens. The thing you intended to get done goes by the wayside. And you even (gasp!) procrastinate doing that thing.
***
This happens all the time.
For example, I recently led a marketing workshop for the partners of a law firm.
By the end of their retreat, they were raring to get started on all the marketing strategies that we discussed that day.
It's been about 3 weeks, and they've already pushed back several deadlines (on things they really wanted to have done by now).
I'll be conducting a follow-up meeting with the executive management team this week. You know what I'll tell them, Friend?
Sometimes, life and a busy practice will get in your way.
It's okay.
They aren't "behind".
But that doesn't mean they should do nothing. It's time to ensure they have the support they need to get these things done in a timely manner.
What will that support look like? It depends on where the breakdown is occurring (and why), and could include one or more of the following:
Putting together systems/processes to support consistency and teamwork.
Adding internal marketing/administrative check-in's and support.
Hiring a coach for specific individuals to break through internal barriers.
What's your takeaway?
Don't beat yourself up for being human and life getting busy.
Do take time to put into place whatever you need to support your efforts. So that you can get the things you want to get done - you know - done.
You do not need to do everything yourself. And you aren't built to go solo (no human being is, no matter how high-achieving).
Get the support you need. It's the smart - and necessary - thing for achieving all the things you want.
XO,
Heather
P.S. If you're a law firm owner or owner of a service-based business, then one area of support would be with your online/digital marketing. If that's you, be sure to listen to this week's Life & Law Podcast that covers what you need to know about online/digital marketing >>>here.
P.P.S. If you're ready for customized support from an expert to help you build your ideal legal practice around the lifestyle you actually want, here's how I can help.
