Confused. And a bit dismayed.
That's how I felt when a parent asked our school how to reduce the amount of speaking it required of our 4th - 6th grade children because his son hated speaking in public.
In all fairness to him, it's not uncommon to hate speaking. Or to want to avoid it.
[And thankfully, the school handled it well. He walked away knowing it would help his son become a more confident speaker.]
The truth is that speaking is an important skill.
One you'll want to master, Friend. Even if you don't do paid speaking gigs (like I do).
