Horn blaring, the car behind us made it a point to get as close as possible (without actually hitting us).
My son screamed... "Mom, what is he DOING??"
Zachary was making a right turn into our neighborhood (uphill with a car in the opposite lane). It was only his 2nd time to drive on a busy street, and he slowed down a bit more than was necessary.
The man behind us had no idea that he was furiously honking at a (very) nervous 15-year old. Or that he almost caused an anxiety attack.
And he did all of that just to shave a couple of seconds off his drive.
Perhaps he would have been a bit more gracious had he known our circumstances. But shouldn't he have been more gracious regardless?
You never know what's really going on in someone else's life... what they're dealing with, how they're thinking, the stress they're under, and so on. Any assumptions that you make WILL be wrong.
And so I ask you to remember to give others the grace you'd like them to extend to you. Even *Especially* when you believe you're in the right.
It's an easy way to make the world a better place, Friend.
XO,
Heather
