Subject: The easiest way to land your first client

What big content creators aren't telling you

If you've spent any time on social media you'll see content creators "teaching" everyone the same outreach techniques.

Besides being mostly regurgitated content the majority of creators are making things much harder than they need to be.

Most will advise you to:

> Set up a website

> Warm up an email

> Scrape an email list

> Start sending hundreds of emails

Sound familiar?

But here's the thing...

Landing your first client doesn't have to be difficult.

In fact, it could be easier than you'd ever imagined...

You just need to look for the low-hanging fruit.

Now, what do I mean by this?

You see, most new copywriters are going after the same clients.

Coaches. Supplement brands. Skincare companies.

And these businesses receive hundreds of cold emails a week.

Which means the chances of you standing out are virtually zero.

Instead of targeting the same customers start utilizing something closer to home.

Your network.

Chances are you have a friend or family member who owns a business.

And if they don't, they will know someone who does.

Ask to be put into contact with that person and offer your services for a low fee.

Be fully transparent and say you want to gain some experience and a testimonial.

If they ask to see your work, write something up that relates to their market.

Send this over and wait for a reply.

Now, you might not always land the project (maybe it's not a good fit or they just don't need your services).

But if you reach out to at least 5 people I can guarantee you'll land your first client.

Now you need to go above and beyond to generate the results you promised.

Get the results and the testimonial.

You can use this on your website, on your social media and as part of your outreach.

And just like that, you're ahead of other new copywriters fighting for the same scraps.

I've had students use this strategy to not only land their first client but also land retainer clients that kick-started their business.

It's extremely underutilized because everyone's listening to what the big creators are saying.

Instead of following the crowd utilize what you already have.

Ask 5 business owners and I guarantee you'll land your first client.

Have a great week,
