Subject: I spent 2 weeks in Dubai

Here's what I discovered

After a year of deciding whether or not to go, I finally took a trip to Dubai.

And two weeks in I see why so many entrepreneurs move here.

You see, in most Western countries entrepreneurism is looked down upon.

When you start working for yourself you'll likely hear:

"Isn't setting up a business risky?"

"Shouldn't you just get a job?"

And my personal favourite...

"Don't you know that 9 out of 10 new businesses fail in the first year?"

Thanks Dave the delivery driver, I haven't heard that one before.

Here things are completely different.

Entrepreneurs are everywhere you look.

Go to a coffee shop and there will be people on laptops.

Get a taxi and you'll see CEO's in lambos.

Play a game of paddle ball and you'll meet other business owners.

I literally met the CEO of a multi-seven-figure fashion brand outside of a hotel.

And in all honesty it's got me more motivated than ever.

Getting out of a quiet U.K. town has made me realise how many opportunities are out here.

Just two weeks in I've already learned so much.

Here are my top 3 takeaways so far.

1) You want to be a small fish in a big pond

In the U.K. it's easy to become a top business owner.

Out here people are making multiple millions like it's nothing.

Every time I meet another business I think bigger.

People are constantly jumping on new opportunities and building themselves.

Back home people are moving at a snail's pace and it's easy to get complacent.

2) You can create your environment but ultimately it creates you

In the U.K. it's extremely difficult to stay motivated.

Dark skies. Constant rain. Litter. Poverty everywhere.

Plus a lovely tax bill from the government every year.

Here the environment changes how you think.

Sports cars. Private islands. Yachts. Stunning buildings everywhere you look.

I'm not a material person but it's hard not to get motivated.

The energy here is contagious and it's hard to not think bigger.

3. The West has become a scam

Now don't get me wrong, I'm extremely grateful to have grown up in the West.

Great education. Free healthcare. High-quality opportunities.

However the West is rapidly crashing.

Huge increases in the cost of living.

Massive rises in crime.

Higher taxes that just go into the government's pockets.

Society in the West is completely failing and people are starting to realise how bad it's becoming.

Out here everything seems better.

The city is clean and crime-free.

People are friendly and respectful.

The government isn't stealing your money.

And while costs might be slightly higher (but not that much) the quality and level of service you receive is far beyond the best service in the U.K.

Now, this isn't a plea to pack up your things and move to Dubai.

But you need to be taking trips that help you expand your mind.

The worst thing you can do for your business is stay in a place that leaves you tired, unmotivated and bitter.

We live in the best time in human history.

You just need to go and find it.

Have a great week.
