Good day,
Created and shared by a friend of Common Passion. Please share widely as our ongoing concordance for this week:
A Call to Loving Arms
"We can't save the soul of this nation throwing
bricks. We can't save the soul of this nation getting our ammunitions and going
out shooting physical weapons. We must know that we have something much more
powerful. Just take up the ammunition of love"
~
Martin Luther King, Jr., 1963
I. Hear Their Cry
This is a call to action.
Some members of our human family are
crying out.
Unrest is common to our world. In this,
our time of unrest, their anger has gotten our attention.
We hear them.
We humans know that when our
whispers go unheard, we speak louder, louder and louder still.
We know that when we feel afraid
for our future, it can fill us with feelings of loss.
We know that when our sense of injustice
is activated, it can embolden us to take action.
In this time of unrest, we hear
their fear, their loss, their sense of injustice.
And though we are troubled by their
actions, we are grateful for their catalytic contribution.
Their disruption sharpens our focus
about who we truly are.
This is a call for your
contribution.
This is a call to action.
II. Our Stand.
We turn toward connection and away
from disruption.
Whether we share none, some or all
of their beliefs, we do not carry weapons to our dissent.
This is a call to lay down our arms
of hate, our arms of fear.
We reach out with our arms of love.
Ours is an individual and
collective Call to Arms.
A Call to Loving Arms.
III. Join Our Call to Loving Arms
We humans
are creators, each in our own way.
The best
that we create brings laughter, satisfaction, connection, wonder, joy.
The worst
that we create brings sorrow, discontent, isolation, injury, terror, death.
Each of us
can find our highest way of bringing ourselves, our visions, actions to this
intent.
How can
you bring your best, with intention, to this, our time of unrest? Will you:
· Call someone who could use a
lift?
· Meditate or pray?
· Uplift others in a zoom call?
· Lighten hearts through your
laughter? · Share your art, play your music
or dance to soothe the weary?
We lay down our arms of hate. We
lift our arms of love.
Join this call to action by sharing
the best of yourself.
Join our Call to Loving Arms. All the best, Joseph Giove and the Common Passion Core Team www.CommonPassion.org
