The Current State of Privacy Laws for

Substance Use Disorder Treatment

On Tuesday August 9th from 3:00-4:00 PM EST, the Center of Excellence for Protected Health Information (CoE-PHI) will facilitate a free national webinar outlining the current status of the federal privacy protections for substance use disorder (SUD) treatment records, 42 CFR Part 2 and the HIPAA Privacy Rule.


Objectives:

  • Describe the current status of the federal privacy laws that apply to SUD treatment records (42 CFR Part 2 and HIPAA)

  • Outline forthcoming changes to 42 CFR Part 2 (through the CARES Act)

  • Identify how to access resources and technical assistance through the CoE-PHI


Who Should Attend?
SUD and Mental Health treatment providers, clients, administrators, state agency leaders, and others involved in providing SUD treatment or coordinating care for SUD treatment.
