Wild & Precious LIfe
Happy Spring! Woohoo! For me, winter has been a mixed bag. My new workout routine has me feeling strong, agile, and fit. I took some down time contemplating my next chapter of life. (Lucky me! I’m turning 65 this year!)
Just as spring is springing, our family lost two young men. Nephew, Terre (29 YO), a pedestrian, was killed when he was hit by a car. Less than 24 hours later, Jonny (24 YO), in ICU over 2 weeks with congenital heart disease, passed. It hit us very hard.
I’m not trying to be morbid or a downer. Rather, I’m quite grateful to be gifted yet another day on this earth. A day that is mine to make, to create experiences, and memories. The preacher said, “Death does not respect age.” I think that’s worth remembering, especially for young people.
When have you said, “I’ll do (plug in the blank) when I have time/money/the right bike/am retired/am better? Tomorrow is not guaranteed. That’s true for young and old alike. In the words of poet Mary Oliver,

Join us for group training Rendezvous Grand Junction May 23-27. We still have a few cabin spots available, or you can camp on nearby BLM lands. We’ll be enjoying spectacular scenery in the Escalante Canyon area.
