| When Coach Tim Brilley took over the head coaching job at Morton High School in Morton, IL the Potters were fresh off of an 0-9 season and had won just 8 games in the previous 4 seasons. In his first season Morton improved to 3-6 and in 2017 went 7-4 advancing to the second round of the Illinois High School Football Playoffs. The playoff win was Morton’s first since 2005. How did the staff at Morton get it done? Brilley will be the first to tell you he had a great staff and outstanding athletes but it’s clear his leadership paved the way. Brilley believes, “for us, less is more, simple is better”. He adds , “We want the five guys up front to understand what we’re doing and what we’re trying to do” |
