True coaching junkies are rarer than you may think. As an Online Clinic member you have proven that improving upon and staying sharp at your craft is important to you!
So now that we are in the chaos of what football season is, how do most guys make use of a resource like Chiefpigksin's Online Clinic?
Reminders: Whether it's during a plan period while at school, over your lunch hour with your leftovers fresh out of the microwave, or late at night as you fall asleep in bed or on the couch, open up the Online Clinic and pick out a video from a guy you respect. Whether it's on his offense, defense, or program development, all of these presentations start with a coach listing off the things that are important to him in his program.
It is easy to get caught up in the business of a season. It is always a good idea to stay grounded and sit back and remind yourself what your priorities are for your program... or for your offense or defense.
Take the field the following day with a renewed sense of purpose!
Ideas: Thinking about adding a wrinkle to your playbook? Is your jet sweep struggling a bit? Are you desperately looking for a way to get pressure on the quarterback?
Take to the Clinic! With currently 117 videos on the clinic which includes 83 full length clinic presentations, there are resources on nearly every aspect of the game from Championship Coaches. Listen for an idea, then shoot that guy an email and pick his brain. Don't be too proud to ask for help or ideas!
Game Planning: Use the Online Clinic on the weekend while game planning! Playing a wing-t team this week or a zone based team? Facing the 3-4 for the first time this year. Open a video and gain some insight into how coaches using similar systems are trying to attack. You may gain a better understanding of what the opponent will do this Friday or you may be assured that what you are planning is sound.
As we use to say on my staff, "Leave no stone un-turned!"
