October Update - More Tricks of the Trade
Hi ,
Here is an October update for members of RMSEO.
I hope that you're all doing well. With Halloween approaching don't forget to get your offers ready for the big day. It's a time for connecting with your customers. Whether it's thorugh email, Ecommerce offers or blog posts. Think "How can my keywords / products / services be connected to Halloween?"
Facebook A series of videos (in 3 parts) is now being posted at rmseo.com. Part 1 of Facebook Marketing for Authors is ready for viewing at the time of this writing and Parts 2 and 3 will be ready by Wednesday morning the latest. (That's tomorrow morning on my side of the international date line) You can find them in the Social Media section of the site.
Yes Facebook is still the top dawg for getting traffic to your site. The stats just last week were 1.6 million members of which 50% login everyday and stay an average of 18 minutes. Those numbers are staggering when you think about them. There is no other place like that online today.
I purchased the Facebook for Authors series from Charity Cason who is an author, self publisher, ghost writer and is well known in internet circles. She utilizes Facebook as an author and has for years so she knows what works and what doesn't. The authors among us can save a lot of time getting it right by spending some time watching these videos.
Part 1 covers:
- Branding as an Author
- Posting (Blog Posts)
- Scheduling Posts
- Personal Profile or Fan Page?
- Wordswag
- Picmonkey
Part 2 will cover: - Facebook Ads for Likes
- Ads for Page Posts
- Ads for Selling
- Creating Good Ads
- Assessing Your Ads
- Sample Ads (to pinpoint what's working with them)
Part 3 will cover - Power Editor Basics
- Audience Insights
- Creating Lookalike Audiences
You can't go wrong spending some time with these videos.
SEO I've also added a menu selection for SEO. Not a bad idea, I thought, considering the site is called RMSEO and it had training for everything but...! Under this I've posted a table to provide everyone with an overview of linking strategy for your websites. It is general enough that everyone with a website can use it. Understanding the links to your sites is a key ingredient in rank and therefore traffic. I'm contemplating hosting a live webinar on this topic because it's so important. Let me know if this interests you either by email or here.
Google, about 2 weeks ago, released an update to its Panda algorythm. This is what they call the software and rank calculation method of the sites they are indexing. That applies to all of your websites. There have been no adverse affects on any site that we are hosting.
WordPress Updates: Wordpress Version 4.0 has come out since the last time that I wrote to you. All sites, themes and plugins have been updated and there have been no casualties. These updates are maintained for security purposes.
The last newsletter I mentioned providing more about blogging at the site. Everything is gathered and is in production.
To your success, Russ Morgan
