Black History Month Books for Youth Program
City Youth Now is excited to celebrate Black History Month with the youth and families we serve by providing culturally inclusive books that share Black History and celebrate the rich stories, lives and accomplishments of Black people.
We will be purchasing these books online through Bookshop, which supports local bookstores. We have chosen to support Marcus Books through our purchases. Marcus Books is located in Oakland and is the nation's oldest Black-owned independent bookstore! You can either have the books shipped directly to youth, or you can arrange to pick them up from our office.
In order to refer youth or self refer, please fill out one of these google forms by clicking the orange "Register Here!" button.
Each youth can choose two books. This opportunity will be available on a FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS, and we will reach out to you within 2 business days to confirm once we have received your referral. Once we have exhausted funding, we will be closing the form.
