| We're still giving you ample opportunity to catch up on the big award winners this weekend, but be sure check out two NEW titles arriving on Friday: - Director Kitty Green makes her narrative film debut with The Assistant, a day-in-the-life #MeToo thriller set at a Weinstein-esque production company. Julia Garner (We Are What We Are) stars as Jane, the titular office worker who becomes increasingly aware of her boss's misdeeds. Eric Kohn of IndieWire says "A quiet work with major ambitions, The Assistant is a significant cultural statement in cinematic form."
- The dynamic duo that brought us the horrific Goodnight Mommy, Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz, are back with The Lodge. A midnight hit at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival, it follows another pair of precocious kids on a haunted (?) getaway with their step-mother to be. Jordan Ruimy of the Playlist calls it "a meditative plumbing of the darkest parts of the human psyche, our vulnerabilities, and self-doubts, and it’s these personal fears that resonate loudly."
