| | Greetings, Cinemapolitans! |
| It's almost here! We're only selling 150 tickets to the annual “And the Winner Is...” Awards Night Party, so get yours today! And while you're at it, get ready for TWO new titles coming your way this Friday: - Originally named Richard Alpert, the late, great spiritualist known as Ram Dass gets the documentary treatment in Becoming Nobody. Director Jamie Catto uses recent interviews and archival footage to create what Gary Goldstein of the LA Times calls an "inspiring, stirringly meditative portrait of one man’s profound spiritual influence on a world that has surely needed him."
- From the creator of the smash hit Your Name comes another beautiful anime fantasy, Weathering With You. Screening in both dubbed (matinees) and subtitled (evenings) versions, it's a tale of star-crossed love that Carlos Aquilar of the Wrap calls "As irresistibly romantic as it is awe-inspiringly gorgeous."
A handful of additional special reasons to head to the movies are on the way as well: |
| |
Captured live from The Old Vic in London, Academy Award-winner Sally Field (Steel Magnolias, Brothers & Sisters) and Bill Pullman (The Sinner, Independence Day) star in Arthur Miller’s blistering drama All My Sons.
America, 1947. Despite hard choices and even harder knocks, Joe and Kate Keller are a success story. They have built a home, raised two sons and established a thriving business. But nothing lasts forever and their contented lives, already shadowed by the loss of their eldest boy to war, are about to shatter. With the return of a figure from the past, long buried truths are forced to the surface and the price of their American dream is laid bare.
Jeremy Herrin (NT Live:This House, People, Places & Things) directs a cast including Jenna Coleman (Victoria), and Colin Morgan (Merlin). |
| | While you're planning your next week at the movies, be sure to get in soon to catch Clemency and The Song of Names. They both have their last screenings THIS Thursday, January 30th. |
