| | Greetings, Cinemapolitans! |
|
- Alfre Woodard stars as death-row prison warden in the Sundance award winner, Clemency. David Rooney of the Hollywood Reporter says, “it's the humanity and compassion invested across all the principal characters that makes this contemplative examination of the terrible weight of taking a life so commanding.”
- Tim Roth and Clive Owen star in The Song of Names, a mystery based on the award-winning 2002 novel. Gary Goldstein of the LA Times calls it “a profound, affecting and beautifully told chronicle of faith, family, obsession and the language of music.”
- Genre director Richard Stanley makes a triumphant return to the screen with the psychelic Lovecraft adaptation, Color Out of Space. Jake Cole of Slant says it’s a “vivid depiction of how a confrontation with the unknown can so easily shatter the fragile bonds that hold us together.”
A handful of additional special reasons to head to the movies are on the way as well: |
