Subject: Cinemapolis Recommends - Virtual Cinema & Home 🎥 Viewing Options - 5/20

Greetings, Cinemapolitans,

Our seventh week of virtual cinema offerings kicks off with THREE great new titles this Friday, just in time for the long holiday weekend.

These new movies arriving does mean that we need to make some room, however. If you haven't yet checked out The Etruscan Smile or The Infiltrators, hop to it! They're only available through the end of the day tomorrow, May 21st.

As always, the full listing of all current and upcoming virtual films can be found on our Virtual Cinema page.

The Painter and the Thief

VIRTUAL CINEMA:
FOURTEEN

Fourteen

“A modest but gradually — and, in the end, greatly — affecting sketch of how even the closest of friendships can shift and wither over the years.”

Over the course of a decade, a young woman becomes increasingly dysfunctional due to undiagnosed mental illness, or perhaps to drugs, while her more stable friend sometimes tries to help, sometimes backs away to preserve herself.

Director: Dan Sallitt
Writer: Dan Sallitt (Writer)
Stars: Tallie Medel, Norma Kuhling, Lorelei Romani

VIRTUAL CINEMA:
LUCKY GRANDMA

Lucky Grandma

"A heist movie like this shouldn’t exist. But thank god it does.”

Set in New York City’s Chinatown, an ornery, chain-smoking Chinese grandma goes all in at the casino, landing herself on the wrong side of luck – and in the middle of a gang war.

Director: Sasie Sealy
Writers: Angela Cheng, Sasie Sealy

"[A] nuanced and beguiling new documentary about the various things we all take from each other.”

An artist befriends the thief who stole her paintings. She becomes his closest ally when he is severely hurt in a car crash and needs full time care, even if her paintings are not found. But then the tables turn.
