| | SCHEDULE OF SHOWTIMES JULY 27 - AUG 2 ALL SHOWTIMES BELOW VALID BEGINNING FRI, JUL 27 |
| | Greetings, Cinemapolitans! |
| We're wrapping up July with ONE new opener on Friday:
- American auteur Gus Van Sant (Milk, Elephant) returns to our screens with the darkly comic biopic, Don't Worry, He Won't Get Far On Foot. Joaquin Phoenix stars as John Callahan, an alcoholic cartoonist whose life takes a downward turn after a car accident leaves him paralyzed. Based on Callahan's memoir of the same name, the film recounts his rocky road to recovery and his discovery of the healing power of art. David Rooney of the Hollywood Reporter says that Phoenix "eases into the lead role with equal parts raw pain, ironic humor and eventual mellow acceptance."
And the week has more to offer than JUST this new opener. There are several special screenings on the way, including some live theater on the big screen THIS Wednesday! |
| The Downtown Ithaca Alliance is celebrating Downtown Employee Appreciation Week by hosting a screening of the classic film that lovingly skewers the life of the office worker, Office Space!
This screening is only $1 for downtown employees - stop by the box office to pick yours up. Bringing a friend? Tickets are only $5 for everyone else.
Leave your staplers at home!
