Greetings, Cinemapolitans!
Time to do a little Spring cleaning...we're clearing out the screens for 4 (FOUR!) new films that arrive on April 11.
- Academy Award nominee for best animated feature, Ernest & Celestine is here just in time for school break with a week of special matinee screenings.
- Le Week-End is a fun look at complicated the feat of making a marriage stand the test of time. It's the fourth collaboration for novelist Hanif Kureishi and director Roger Michell. Hear about their own rocky relationship in this NPR segment.
- The Lunchbox, a sweet Mumbai romance, stars the great Irrfan Khan, who American audiences will remember from his touching portrayal of the adult "Pi" in Life of Pi.
- Documentarian Errol Morris returns to "Fog of War" territory in his latest, The Unknown Known. This time, his lens focuses on former secretary of defense, Donald Rumsfeld. Don't miss the limited engagement of this provocative film.
Also coming this week, the second installment of FANTASTIC FILM FRIDAYS. This time around, Hugues Barbier, the impresario behind the Ithaca International Fantastic Film Festival, brings us a special screening of Fractured, featuring a talk-back with the film's director, Adam Gierasch. This ONE NIGHT ONLY SCREENING happens on Friday, April 11th at 9:30.
All this Spring Cleaning means we're saying goodbye to Enemy and The Wind Rises. They both end on Thursday! |
