| | Greetings, Cinemapolitans! |
| - French actress Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre makes her feature writing & directorial debut with the prison drama, The Mustang. Matthias Schoenaerts stars as Roman Coleman, a prisoner in a Nevada correctional facility taking part in a training program for wild horses. Owen Gleibeman of Variety says it's "a touching and original piece of bare-bones sentimental humanism, and Schoenaerts is terrific in it."
- Nashville-raised writer/director Harmony Korine is back with his follow-up to Spring Breakers, the pot-infused odyssey, The Beach Bum. Matthew McConaughey leads a stellar ensemble cast through a series of misadventures in the Florida Keys. Ryan Oliver of the Playlist says it's, "very much of a piece with 'Trash Humpers' and 'Spring Breakers,' but in a surprising change of pace for Korine, the film is more at ease with itself, and more emotional than either of those two provocative efforts."
But before we get to the weekend, there's a special community rental event on the way: |
