| | SCHEDULE OF SHOWTIMES FEB 16 - FEB 22 ALL SHOWTIMES BELOW VALID BEGINNING FRI, FEB 16 |
| | Greetings, Cinemapolitans!
As Oscar night approaches, we're adding ONE new opener this Friday: - Annette Bening returns to our screens with another award-nominated performance. In Film Stars Don't Die in Liverpool, Bening stars as real-life Oscar-winner Gloria Grahame in the true story of Grahame's May/December romance with a struggling British actor. Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) shines as Peter Turner, upon whose memoir the film is based. Peter Bradshaw of The Guardian says "It’s a beguiling story and Bell and Bening are tremendous."
Since we're also keeping ALL of our other award hopefuls on screen, that means some big changes to showtimes in the coming week, so please read the schedule below carefully, and note that THESE SHOWTIMES GO INTO EFFECT ON FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 16th.
Also note these special event screenings coming up this weekend: |
| featuring Q & A w/ director Olga Nikulina and audiologist Megan Kuhlmey “Underneath the sound” is a narrative short film about hearing loss told through the perception of music. It follows the emotional struggle of a musician as his hearing deteriorates.
Local filmmaker Olga Nikulina based her debut fiction film on her own personal experiences and enlisted the assistance of distinguished audiologist, Megan Kuhlmey, who serves as the Director of Cochlear Implants and Pediatric Audiology Department at Columbia University Medical Center.
Both Nikulina and Kuhlmey will be present for a post-show discussion at this special one-time screening. |
| The Family Classics Picture Show continues its 4th year on Sunday, February 18th at 2pm with a screening of Heidi.
To get families excited about the magic of the movies, each matinee features an introduction by actor, magician, and movie buff David Moreland and includes custom enrichment guides to help continue the conversation after the credits roll.
Discounted tickets for these special Sunday events are just $3 for adults, $2 for kids, or $10 for an entire family. The Family Classics Picture Show at Cinemapolis is made possible by lead sponsor The Ainslie Reilly Group at Morgan Stanley, with additional support from Mama Goose. |
