Greetings, Cinemapolitans!

We come out of an exciting holiday weekend with one new film opening on Friday:
  • Straight from the festivals in Cannes and Telluride comes a Western written by, directed by, and starring Tommy Lee Jones. Hilary Swank leads a strong, mostly female cast in The Homesman, an unconventional frontier story that tracks a rescue mission to retrieve three young mothers who've gone mad from life on the prairie. With stunning imagery courtesy of cinematographer Rodrigo Pietro (Babel) and a supporting cast featuring stars like Meryl Streep, Jones has crafted a what CineVue calls "an original and cantankerously offbeat western which becomes increasingly beguiling as the road stretches on."

Special events in the coming week kick off on Friday night with a special Music Video Premiere night with local band, The Blind SpotsThe selection of BRAND NEW videos from their yet-to-be-released album won't be released for online consumption until later, AND they have some tricks up our sleeves that can *ONLY* be enjoyed at this release party on this night.

There are TWO screenings scheduled for Friday, December 5th (7pm and 8pm), but the 7 PM session has already sold out!  Get your 8pm tickets HERE while they last!

National Theatre Live returns to the Mop on Thursday with the latest production of David Hare's acclaimed play, Skylight. Carey Mulligan and Bill Nighy star as schoolteacher Kyra Hollis and her former lover, Tom Sergeant, as they attempt to rekindle their once passionate relationship only to find themselves locked in a dangerous battle of opposing ideologies and mutual desires.

Captured live from London's West End, this sold out production directed by Stephen Daldry (The Audience) screens two times only - Thursday, December 11th at 6:30 pm and again on Saturday, December 13th at 1:30 pm.

To bring in all this NEW, some old must go. You have just a few more chances to see Force Majeure. The last screening is on Thursday night.

See you at the movies!
