| | Greetings, Cinemapolitans: |
| The award hopefuls keep coming with a hit from this year's Toronto International Film Festival arriving on Friday: - Winner of the People's Choice Award at TIFF, Jojo Rabbit is a bizarrely touching spoof of Nazi Germany during the late stages of the war from writer/director/star Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople). Steve Pond of The Wrap calls it "a twisted piece of grandly entertaining provocation. ... This is a dark satire that finds a way to make a case for understanding."
There's also a pack of special event screenings on the way, including a fantastic LIVE theatre event on Thursday: |

See the hilarious, award-winning, one-woman show that inspired the BBC’s hit TV series Fleabag, broadcast live to cinemas from London’s West End. Written and performed by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and directed by Vicky Jones, Fleabag is a rip-roaring look at some sort of woman living her sort of life. Fleabag may seem oversexed, emotionally unfiltered and self-obsessed, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. With family and friendships under strain and a guinea pig café struggling to keep afloat, Fleabag suddenly finds herself with nothing to lose.
