Greetings, Cinemapolitans!
The announcement of Academy Award nominations is just a few days away, and our next new film is sure to be on the list:
- Bennett Miller (Capote, Moneyball) reunites with screenwriter Dan Futterman to tell the grand, spell-binding, and tragically true story of the doomed relationship between eccentric millionaire John du Pont and wrestling brothers Mark and Dave Shultz. Foxcatcher has already won the AFI award for Movie of the Year and garnered Miller the best directing award at Cannes. All three of the lead actors (Steve Carell, Mark Ruffalo, Channing Tatum) put in career-topping performances in a film Variety's Justin Chang calls "satisfyingly rich and thorny in its conception of the tightly wound triangle at its center." Be sure to catch it before Oscar® night!
To get families excited about the magic of the movies, each matinee will feature an introduction by actor, magician, and movie buff David Moreland and will include custom enrichment guides to help continue the conversation after the credits roll.
Discounted tickets for these special Sunday events are just $3 for adults, $2 for kids, or $10 for a “family pass” of up to five people. They're available online now. The Family Classics Picture Show at Cinemapolis is made possible by lead sponsor Wells Fargo Advisors. Appearances by David Moreland are underwritten with support from Mama Goose.
