| | Greetings Cinemapolitans!
The Thanksgiving holiday is nearly here, and to celebrate, we have THREE new films that get a special WEDNESDAY opening: - A hot ticket at this year's Sundance and Toronto Film Festivals, Brooklyn has finally arrived on our screens. This Nick Hornby adaptation of the best-selling Colm Tóibín novel stars young Irish phenom Saiorse Ronan (How I Live Now, Grand Budapest Hotel) in a classic 1950s immigrant love story. Todd McCarthy of the Hollywood Reporter sums it up thusly: "Classily and classically crafted in the best sense by director John Crowley and screenwriter Nick Hornby, this superbly acted romantic drama is set in the early 1950s and provides the feeling of being lifted into a different world altogether, so transporting is the film's sense of time and place and social mores."
- Emma Donoghue's stirring novel springs to life on screen with Room, the latest from Irish director Lenny Abrahamson (Frank) and winner of the audience award at this year's Toronto International Film Festival. Brie Larson (Short Term 12) delivers another deeply moving performance in the story of Jack and "Ma" as they escape from captivity into a much larger world. Slant Magazine calls it "never sensational or saccharine...a tough but tender tribute to the creative power of maternal love."
- Hollywood's troubled "blacklist" era takes center stage in Trumbo, the political bio-pic that recounts the life and times of novelist and screenwriter Dalton Trumbo. It features a star-studded cast, but according to IndieWire, "the film's MVPs are Bryan Cranston's dedicated performance as the title character, and, appropriately, John McNamara's jocular screenplay, with a terrific ensemble of supporters also along for the ride back to Hollywood's notorious past."

| PLEASE NOTE that this schedule runs for more than a week - from Wednesday, November 25th through Thursday, December 3rd. It also includes special, limited showtimes on Thanksgiving Day. Enjoy some movies after your meal!
