| | Greetings Cinemapolitans!
- In Labyrinth of Lies, the debut feature from director Giulio Ricciarelli, a lesser known chapter of post-war German history is revealed - the Frankfurt Auschwitz trials, in which 22 former functionaries at the Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp were tried for murder. Based on the actual research of several prosecuting attorneys, the film focuses on Johann Radmann as he uncovers a nationwide collective--and willful--amnesia of the Holocaust. Stephen Holden of the NY Times calls the film "a chilly, disquieting study of a society in a state of denial until the truth is bared." Don't miss this limited engagement!

| After the dust settles from the IIFFF, we head into next week with a series of special screenings that begins on Tuesday, November 17th at 7 pm. The Multicultural Resource Center kicks off their new film series with a one-night showing of Concerning Violence, a film based upon revolutionary philosopher, psychiatrist, and liberationist Frantz Fanon's essay within his 1961 book, "The Wretched of the Earth." Panel discussion to follow, moderated by Dubian Ade.

| The Olive Branch Film Series continues with their latest installment - a screening of Private on Wednesday, November 18th at 7:15 pm. Featuring both narrative films and documentaries, the Olive Branch Film Series aims to promote exploration and discussion of complex human, political, historical and cultural realities of Palestinians. One last installment for 2015 is scheduled for December. |
| Finally, on Thursday, November 19th at 7:30, Ithaca College Club Baseball will be on hand to present a one-night screening of the 1993 kids classic, The Sandlot. In its inaugural season on South Hill, I.C. Club Baseball will be using the proceeds from this event for funds for vital equipment like batting helmets and catching gear as well as field fees and umpires. |
