| | Greetings, Cinemapolitans! |
| Things CONTINUE to be Fantastik at the theater, as the 7th annual Fest heads toward its closing weekend. We're also adding ONE new opener to our slate of awards hopefuls on Friday: - Academy Award nominees Steve Carell and Timothée Chalamet star as the real-life father and son David and Nic Sheff in the memoir adaptation, Beautiful Boy. Tracking a family's struggle with addiction and recovery, Owen Glieberman of Variety calls it "scrupulous and tenderly wounding — a drama that seizes and holds you."

In the 1970s, the Highwoods Stringband’s unique blend of musical brilliance, exuberance, sparkling wit, and eclectic repertoire introduced tens of thousands of delighted listeners to traditional old-time music. They traveled extensively, including tours of Latin America and Europe. Based in the Ithaca area, the band had a considerable local following. Their inspiration of countless other musicians can still be heard today.
Blending rare performance footage, photographs, sound recordings, and interviews, this colorful film aptly captures the spirit of the time and the joy and excitement generated by the band.
Join us for this ITHACA PREMIERE featuring director Larry Edeleman.
