August is here already, and we're making room for one new opener on Friday: - You needn't be a diehard fan of the Mothers of Invention to enjoy Eat That Question: Frank Zappa in His Own Words. This brilliant documentary (Certified Fresh!) from Thorsten Schütte uses unseen footage, interviews, and performances to showcase the life of the counter-cultural rock icon, from his early proto-punk through to the later classical compositions. Illuminating his role as a both a groundbreaking musician as well as an outspoken social critic, the man himself claimed that he wasn't interested in being remembered. But, as Kenneth Turan of the LA Times says, "If this labor-of-love portrait is any indication, forgetting Frank Zappa is not going to happen any time soon."
