| | Greetings Cinemapolitans!
It's commencement season in our little college town, so get away from the rat-race and settle in with some new movies! Two are on their way this Friday: - Dev Patel (Slumdog Millionaire) returns to our screens as The Man Who Knew Infinity. Based on the true story of genius mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, the film follows his journey from Madras to Cambridge and the struggle against prejudices to have his theories accepted by the academic elite. Jeremy Irons shines as G.H. Hardy, the fellow mathematician who championed his work. The Boston Herald calls the film "a fitting tribute to a man from Madras who became a Fellow of the Royal Society, foreshadowed Albert Einstein and is rightfully considered one of the greatest mathematicians the world has ever produced." On TUESDAY, MAY 17, our 7 pm screening of The Man Who Knew Infinity will be followed by a special talk-back and Q & A with Drs. Ravi Ramakrishna and Steven Strogatz from Cornell's Department of Mathematics. Don't miss it!
- Irish Auteur John Carney (Once, Begin Again) continues his on-screen love affair with music with his latest, Sing Street. This time, he's returned to 1980s Ireland to follow the (mis)adventures of Conor, a Dublin teen who forms a band to impress a girl. Featuring a slew of New Wave hits and brilliant ensemble cast, it's just the kind of nostalgic feel-good music movie that this grey Spring needs. The St Louis Post-Dispatch calls Sing Street "the best film about being young, gifted and Irish since "The Commitments."

| Also this weekend, the Family Classics Picture Show continues its 2nd year of introducing the magic of cinema to parents and kids with a screening of The In-Laws on Sunday, May 15 at 2 pm. This wacky slapstick comedy is rated PG, so we recommend this screening for kids ages 10 and up.
To get families excited about the magic of the movies, each Family Classics Picture Show matinee features an introduction by actor, magician, and movie buff David Moreland and includes custom enrichment guides to help continue the conversation after the credits roll. Discounted tickets for these special Sunday events are just $3 for adults, $2 for kids, or $10 for an entire family. The Family Classics Picture Show at Cinemapolis is made possible by lead sponsor Wells Fargo Advisors, with additional support from Mama Goose.
